How does it work?
Tanning is the process when DHA (dihydroxyacetone) is applied to the skin using a low pressure spray gun. DHA is a colourless sugar, that interacts with the dead skin cells casuing them to change colour. This lasts up to 7 days.

Is it safe? What if Im allergic or have sensitive skin?
Yes! A patch test is also advisable 24-48 hours prior to undetaking any sunless tanning procedure if your skin is sensitive or if you would just like to make sure.

Who shouldn't get a tan?

We suggest that women who are preganant or those who have asthma, should avoid spray tanning.

Is there an age limit?

It is recommended that children under the age of 14 have parental consent prior undertaking the tanning procedure.

What if my skin is dry?

DHA has a drying effect on the skin. It is therefore, highly recommended that you moisturise the night before your treatment and everyday thereafter.

Does the spray tan contain any SPF ?

Mistair tan offers NO protection from the sun whatsoever, therefore, a high factor sun cream & regular moisturiser are recommended. Especially when sitting in sunlight for prolonged periods.

Does it smell?

The development of DHA has a characteristic smell to it, however, Mistair has an exclusive fragrance containing neutrilising agents to keep this to an absolute minimum.

What do I wear?

Clothes worn to the salon should be dark and loose fitting. Flip Flops make the erfect footwear for your visit. We would recommend you take all jewellery off as well, and tan in a bikini or g-string.

Will it rub off on to my clothes?

The colour may rub off onto your clothes, but this is non-staining and will wash out. Your tan, however, will not rub off so you can wear your favourite outfit - no worries!!

Will I go orange?

No, the product takes on your particular skin colour - a shade darker
